Baby Ty

I don't know that you'll ever be called just Ty.
Porter has been calling you Baby Ty since you were in the womb.
Everyone caught onto it, and now that just seems to be part of your identity.

Eight months has truly been a game changer for you.
You have made so many milestones over the past month.
You're sitting up on your own,
your first two teeth came in Feb. 28
(mommy and daddy's 7th anniversary),
you're scooting everywhere,
you're getting up on your knees and rocking,
you're pulling up on things to stand...
it's been crazy to watch you!

You're still pretty fussy and very demanding.
You want to be entertained all the time.
I think you just really enjoy having people around.
You think your brother is the best thing since formula :)
You laugh at him all the time,
and Porter absolutely loves it.

You had your first finger foods on Saturday, March 5...
eggs and avocado.
Of course, you loved it.

You're a very happy and cuddly boy.
When you're tired, you rub your eyes a lot
and you will lay your head on our shoulder.
Even if you do it for just a second
we know that you want to go to bed.

You are great about going to sleep.
We just put you in your crib and you roll over onto your tummy.
You've been sleeping through the night since you were about 5 months old.
You used to wake up really early and I would go feed you,
but now I have to wake you up. It's so nice!

You have brought so much love and laughter into our family.
We love you, Baby Ty!

Holiday craziness

This photo just about sums up our holiday season...

craziness.

The month of December was filled with us
closing on our new house and moving out of EE's
all while trying to make a memorable first Christmas with Ty.

We took a small break from all that to visit
Aunt Kelly and all the cousins in Utah.

EE came with us and she was able
to spend a lot of time with Aunt Kelly,
while we spent time with all the kids.

We went four-wheeler riding and sledding,
and had a great time visiting with old friends.

For Christmas, Santa brought Porter
a basketball goal and Ty a big ball.
He gave both the boys a very nice train table.

EE got Porter an electric train that was all the rage
until Porter started to mistreat it.
I think we will put it away until he is a little older.

We moved into our new house the day before New Year's Eve.
We made a goal to be in by the end of the year,
and we sure made that happen just in the nick of time.

We've been doing a little remodeling and it's really coming along.

Looking back, 2015 was a really great year.

And so far, 2016 is even more awesome!
