Easter and Daddy's 33rd Birthday :)

Easter was on March 27th this year,
and we hosted the Turfitt family at our new house.

This is the only photo I managed to get from the actual day
because I was running around like a mad woman.

Ava, Porter & Mae Easter 2016
I just love Easter because I love that it gives the world
a chance to celebrate our Savior and all that he sacrificed for us.

We attended church in the morning and everyone came over around 3pm.

Mommy made her first ham and it was very delicious.
We had delicious appetizers and side dishes too.
We also had a piƱata that was huge hit with the kids.

The Easter bunny brought Porter a new wooden train set
and Ty got some bath/pool toys.
Aunt Tricia gave us Christopher's old train table.
So now we have two train tables and the boys love them!

The next week was Daddy's 33rd birthday,
and we celebrated with his family the night before.

As usual, the food was great, dessert was even better
and all the kids ran around like crazy.
They really are growing up fast and becoming more like friends.
It is so adorable to see all of them together.

We are so thankful to have this guy in our lives.
He is the best husband, father and friend that anyone could ask for.
We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with him.

We love you, Dada!

Just a few things I don't want to forget...

I went upstairs to get Porter out of bed Saturday morning and he exclaimed, "My room's a mess!" Why yes, yes, it is a mess.

Porter told me after school yesterday, "I'm hungry. I eat a horse."

Ty scooted all over the place for a long time...probably a solid two months. But he finally started crawling on Sunday, April 10.

I took Porter to his second dentist appointment at 2.5 years old. He was a little scared but very brave.

He was on my lap shaking as the hygienist cleaned his teeth and whining a little bit, but he listened so well and kept his mouth open. I was very proud. When the dentist came in, he started waving to him.
This made the hygienist giggle, and Porter looked at her and said, "Stop laughing." I was so embarrassed. Haha!

Ty loves loves LOVES Daddy right now. If he lays eyes on Daddy he is leaping out of my arms to get to him.

Ty started eating solids at 6 months. So far he loves bananas, mangos, sweet potatoes and carrots. But he's not too keen on green beans or peas...just like his Momma. He's a BIG PIG. He slaps his hands on his tray like "feed me, feed me." And if you aren't shoveling it in fast enough he surely lets you know.

Pretty much every time I tell Porter I need to brush his hair he says, "I got knots." It's still long (to his shoulders), and everyone thinks he's a girl, but we think he's just adorable.

Both boys sleep through the night. Porter is a pretty hard sleeper, and if we ever have to wake him up we kind of dread it because he's automatically in a bad mood. He likes to wake up slowly on his own.
Ty is a very light sleeper. Any little thing can wake him up. I go into his room to feed him every morning at 5:30, and I try to be so careful when opening the door but he always wakes up.

Porter's favorite songs right now are "lead me, guide me" aka I Am A Child of God, "rainbow song" aka Somewhere Over the Rainbow, If You're Happy and You Know It and Itsy Bitsy Spider. Ty hasn't taken to Mommy's singing yet, but he loves it when Daddy plays guitar.

Porter's favorite book right now is "bike book" aka The Bike Lesson by Stan and Jan Berenstein. I cannot tell you how many times Daddy and me have read that story. We also just started reading Alice in Wonderland. I didn't think he would be that interested but he listens really well.

Ty could play all day upstairs in his brother's room. I don't know if it's the gazillion toys all over the floor or his brother running around entertaining him, but when he is in there he is happy. Sometimes we leave the boys up there by themselves and watch them from the monitor.

Porter is very sweet to Ty. He's pretty patient with him until Ty takes a toy or pulls his hair, but even then he doesn't react too badly. Sometimes he tells Ty he can't play with something because "it's mine," but he always gives him an alternate toy. Porter gives Ty kisses all the time, and Ty thinks Porter is the funniest person on the planet.

Just thinking about them when I am at work or driving in the car puts a huge smile on my face. We both love them so much!
